If you are one who reads the Bible or hears of it and thinks , “This is just more spiritual mumbo Jumbo like all the other mumbo jumbo the world offers…”…I have to say I totally understand your gripe, but I study the Bible and I feel you may be missing some key points regarding what is actually being conveyed in the Holy Bible. The Bible is astoundingly deep, it really is, so this will take some explaining if you do not mind a well thought out refutation of the idea that the Bible is just one of many religious texts and that the Creation story, the Will of God and really, the make-up of God as a being, overall, makes no sense.

Most self-proclaimed Christians do not actually have insight on the depth of the scriptures. They celebrate pagan holidays, and allowed doctrine based on a 2nd century pagan revision to the Word of God to dictate how they read the Bible. They think it’s ok to wage war, they think God Almighty is 3 beings, they think praying to saints is acceptable, they think many unbiblical things, they make it easy for nonbelievers like the many resoundingly arrogant Atheists of the world to scoff at them because their hijacked version of Christianity is full of lies and contradictions.

I am a Christian, but I completely understand the inclination towards using pure logic and reasoning. However, faith requires more than just reason and logic, it requires something deeper, that lends itself more to intuitive realization. People typically stop there and say such things like “Intuition” cannot be presented like a fact in physical reality and thus cannot stand as a basis of a belief, but I say if you somewhat understand the human mind, it absolutely can. Atheists have tired arguments, they put you in their world and make you play by THEIR rules and mock your belief in God for not measuring up to their cold unfeeling world where we are all just happenstance and nothing was created by a higher power. However, the founder of Analytical Psychology, Carl Gustav Jung, posited that there was much more to the human mind than physical reality, in fact it seems how we humans operate in our reality is often at odds with our physical reality.

The only facets in us that truly NEED this physical reality are our most BASE mechanisms like hunger, survival, procreation, pleasure etc. However, our minds are built to reason BEYOND the physical world (See: Ecclesiastes 3:11), there is something innate in us that yearns for the one that created us. We do so much searching for what lies beyond our physical reality that we can truly conclude that we are not meant to be just cold unreasoning physical beings. I believe someone who reasons that there is more to life than meets the eye is a mentally strong individual because such ideas are the preface to seeking wisdom. Many smug people, pretend to operate in a world of “logic” almost devoid of creative imagination or curiosity, however, this supposed logical existence is nothing but a clever lie. I am not saying unbelievers believe in God secretly… just that highly intelligent men like Carl Gustav Jung pretty much put to bed the idea that we as humans are just “making God up”. God is real, and complex but he wants to be understood, and allows us to draw close to him via his inspired word. Most Atheists know nothing of the Bible, they most likely read it with scrutinizing eyes, being baffled by every miraculous event or seemingly strange narrative.

God was challenged that he was not the best leader for mankind, that was the challenge , so him picking out righteous men to make a nation is humble and profound, but strangely understandable, he proved that man is sinful and that even if he raised them up and gave them the basis for success they would fall away in their imperfect state, which is why Christ was required as a ransom sacrifice. If you read the Bible trying to be convinced you’ve already failed, do not read it trying to be convinced, read it and try to understand what the message therein is trying to say, let its message reach you, extrapolate the true meaning for what is being said. In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve as perfect beings, NOT flawed beings. Perfection is to be FREE from flaws, Adam and Eve were created FREE from FLAW.  Perfection is NOT the inability to commit a flaw but in fact it is only speaking of the STATE of being flawless or without blemish. So, in this context, perfection is the state of being FREE of sin. God created both Adam and Eve perfect, they were perfect, they were free from sin and not inclined to ruin their own perfection via sin either. So they were PERFECT beings but not Infallible beings like God is. Infallible and perfect are different, perfect is to be free from flaw and infallible is to be INCAPBLE of flaw. Adam and Eve are NOT God, they were fallible beings, but they WERE perfect. Again…to be perfect is not to be devoid of the ability to make a mistake or commit a sin, it is simply the quality of being free from blemish. Something can be perfect THEN become blemished. However, once blemished your perfection ceases.

 The ability to commit a sin does not take away from a state of perfection, in fact, you could argue that if you are ABLE to commit sin but choose not to commit sin and remain disciplined enough to withstand temptation and remain perfect, that is TRUE perfection (being perfect from beginning to END, which is another symbolic way Christ is the Alpha and Omega as he stated), which is also why Christ Jesus is described as perfect. Christ was tempted and was FULLY capable of committing sin, otherwise what is the point? If Christ was not ABLE to commit sin, then the tests are meaningless, but as it were, Christ WAS able to commit sin, he simply resisted and remained perfect, this not only puts a good perspective on the original sin but thus PROVES a Man CAN be perfectly free from sin. This means God is not at fault for humans falling to sin because Christ proved that it is possible for a human being, though capable of sin, to live without sinning. His perfect life disproves the idea that humans are destined to fail because of their fallibility and disproves the assertion that Adam and Eve were DOOMED to fail as a cruel joke or cruel “set-up” by God. Christ shows that Adam and Eve are at fault of their own free will for their sin because a sinless life is possible. Christ DEFEATED Satan and Sin by dying without sinning against God and out of LOVE for all of us WE received the opportunity to be “adopted” into Christs Salvation. Christ died on behalf of US ALL so that WE do not have to live a perfect sinless life to gain eternal life but INSTEAD the deal is, we live as righteous as we possibly can, follow Gods commands, accept Christ as our savior and we get to enjoy Gods paradise without having to be perfect.

Now that we have established that God did NOT create a flawed being in some sick game to wait till it made a mistake and then punish it, we can address the assertion that God is cruel or “created evil because he created the being that eventually became Satan”, from an informed standpoint.

Now for the explanation as to WHY God would allow Satan to tempt Eve you have to have a mind for God as a  being. God Almighty reveals his personality and expectations throughout the Bible, so it is possible to get to know God, in fact that is what the Bible is ALL about, getting to KNOW God via his word. God can allow things to happen, he created Satan but gave Satan FREE WILL, with his FREE will Satan chose to rebel and stumble mankind. God is a parent, he knew his rebellious son would cause trouble for his younger children and as such God is NOT a tyrant, if God was a tyrant he would have REVOKED Satan’s free will in order to STOP him from stumbling mankind. As it were, God is fair, he gave BOTH his creations FREE WILL and allowed them to use it as they saw fit. One creation (Satan) decided to use his free will to cause trouble and CREATE evil (notice God did NOT create evil, Satan used a gift from God to create evil, its kind of like gifting your son a computer and he uses the computer to do illegal things online, you giving him the gift is NOT wrong, him using it to do bad is his fault. If you say, “well why did God allow him to use it for bad”, well Free will is just that, it is freedom to do with it as you see fit, a tyrant god foresees your mistake, and does NOT allow you to make it, thus revoking your gift of free will, but a fair and just God will allow you to fail).

Now the other creation DESPITE being created perfect and BEING CLEARLY instructed on not eating from the tree of knowledge, decided on THEIR own to do so. Now back to the original SIN. The Original sin as I read it was NOT Eve being tempted to eat the fruit, it is deeper than that. Also, this notion that God allowed Eve to be tempted unprepared is WRONG, in fact Eve was ALSO instructed on being forbidden from eating from the tree of knowledge but as it were when God came to the Garden of Eden , ALREADY knowing what transpired, he did NOT approach Eve and ask HER why she ate of the tree but INSTEAD asked Adam why HE ate of the fruit of the tree and Adam SINNED again by blaming Eve instead of telling the truth and saying he chose to do what Eve suggested rather than what He (God) commanded. God actually gave Adam a chance to be honest even after Eve ate of the tree. It is true that Eve was deceived first but as I read it, it was NOT until Adam ate as well that Mankind truly FELL. God is not like us, these thousands of years of turmoil is not the same for him, he exists in a different state all together. For him this whole scenario from creation to the fall of Man to the present day is akin to ONE incident between his children in one “afternoon” so to speak. Meaning for God Man was created, Satan tempted Man, God in his  omnipresence already destroyed Satan, and those who earned salvation are ALREADY living in Gods perfect world as intended.

God DOES interact with us in our limited 3 dimensional world, but is not beholden to it. SO for US it seems LONG , drawn out and cruel that we have gone thousands of years in this state of sin and imperfection but for God it is a quick filtering out. Satan tempts those who are inclined to not believe GOD and they are destroyed along with him and his demons, but some of the unrighteous and all of the righteous will be resurrected (See: Acts 24:15). The righteous get everlasting perfect life and the unrighteous who ARE resurrected get one last opportunity to chose God over sin. Thus, God allowed Satan to seal his own fate, then allowed Man to suffer for its fall from grace but through Christ, a perfect life paid the debt of original sin, a perfect life for a perfect life, giving God the final glory in that his world of perfect paradise with perfect humans is fulfilled.

The Bible is a profound unveiling of our origin as beings. We have so many answers for creation and why we are here but the Holy Bible truly has the answers we seek and is profoundly deep when meditated on. I am a skeptical person who scrutinizes everything. I often picked up the Bible trying to look for flaws or trying to be convinced. It was not until I humbled myself to the word, that I could truly appreciate its teachings and revelations. For people who do not believe I would suggest starting with the practical aspects of Christs teachings which include completely turning from the world system and cultivating a peaceful, unattached state of mind that does not toil in the pursuit of material gain, sexual lust, slanderous speech, foul language, physical violence of any form, arrogance, the traditions of men etc.

The Gospels are a good way to start to get to know the Word of God. From the Old Testament the Proverbs and Psalms are good and full of practical wisdom that can help any person lead a clean life that helps keep the mind at ease. Furthermore, the Book of Ecclesiastes where , Solomon, Son of David, gives his testimony regarding the utter meaninglessness of material gain, sexual yearning, pursuit of pleasure, pursuit of status etc. Most importantly, to have faith and give your worries, fears and desires to God is an act of humility. The words of Solomon, Son of David, in the Book of Ecclesiastes 1–12 changed my life with its practical and impactful message. In Ecclesiastes Solomon lays out the meaningless futility of material and fleshly pursuits wonderfully and fully convinced me that the material gain rat race was futile and provided no real purpose or benefit. Ecclesiastes is pure wisdom, and don’t be fooled into thinking just because the lessons there within are part of our modern array of ideas that it isn’t profound.

Furthermore, the message of Christ Jesus is so deep and beautiful that I am utterly BAFFLED that “mainstream Christians” even DARE call themselves TRUE followers of Christ. Christ Jesus taught an extreme way of life that is by all means quite literally the most difficult thing I’ve ever set out to do. Christ teaches to LOVE your fellow man, EVEN if they wish you harm (Matthew 5:38-40) (try loving a man you despise. Try loving a man who wants to take what’s yours and you know it) , Christ teaches that if people impose themselves on you and even impose harsh labor upon you , that you should not only DO the labor, but offer to do even more out of your love for your fellow man (Matthew 5:41). This lesson in particular is a profound one, it teaches you to be so mentally at peace and good that the wickedness of others is not a burden to you but YOU as a follower of Christ will not only show them that you can bear the load they set on you but you still have enough mental strength to turn to them as they sneer at you and say “Is that it? Please let me assist you further”. This type of resilience and humility can BREAK a bully in twine , because most who try to impose, only do so to hurt you and break your spirit, but if they see that even after they have done you wrong that you not only are not phased but have also reduced them to nothing more than someone who simply “needs assistance”, it takes their ego and perceived superiority and negates its value, because they value being able exert themselves on others as to break them down.

Christ taught to love one another, he taught that peace was the way, he taught tribulation will come but to remain in his wisdom and you will overcome (John 15). Trust me when I say it’s even deeper and more beautiful than this. I recommend reading the Gospels and the The book of Proverbs and Psalms for mind freeing wisdom. As in the 1st to Timothy chapter 3 , we are taught that the world will be full of self centered, misguided people, which I see is spot on in this age of materialistic, status chasing and pleasure seeking foolishness. The Apostle Paul urges us to turn away from the world and seek a deeper calling in following Christ and his Father, Jehovah God Almighty. The sentiments of Paul echo the realizations Solomon expressed as “The Teacher” or “The Congregator”, in Ecclesiastes. I’m so much more focused, at peace and confident since giving my life to Jehovah God through his son Christ Jesus… I’m truly satisfied and happy with who I am because of the teachings in the Bible.

To come to God you first humble yourself to him or “fear him”, then you confide in him via prayer but only in the name of his Son Jesus Christ. From there God will answer and he will do so by drawing you to his word or other subtle yet fascinating ways. If it is in your heart to do so, I’d suggest trying.
